Essex

Have you noticed? I've been writing up old walks at the rate of about one a day.

Today I finished writing up Essex. Towards the end, the writing felt almost as laborious and drawn-out as the walking itself was.

So if you want to know what it feels like to walk the two hundred miles from Gravesend to Manningtree via Stanford le Hope, Pitsea, Southend-on-Sea, Shoeburyness, Rochford, Burnham-on-Crouch, Bradwell Waterside, St Lawrence Bay, Maylandsea, Maldon, Tollesbury Marsh, Tollesbury, Mersea Strood, Wivenhoe, Brightlingsea, St Osyth, Walton-on-the-Naze, Kirby-le-Soken and Dovercourt, then I won't have wasted my time.

(How exciting: I'm going to do some more walking in a week or so. But I can't tell you where just yet. It's a secret.)
