I've motored as fast as I can, but my plan to complete Essex by the end of 2000 2001 now looks certain to fail. Maybe next year? I daren't make such claims.

[Tollesbury]

Time for a fairly short walk to round off this year's coastwalking. A quick circuit of Tollesbury Wick Marshes, the peninsula of land between Tollesbury Fleet and the Blackwater. Looking back from Shinglehead Point the power stations at Bradwell are clearly visible across the water, and I know it's time to walk inland again for a while.

Tollesbury itself appears to be a charming sailing village that suffers from the same problem as Woodbridge: access to the marina by boat is limited to the few hours a day the tide permits. That said, the marina seems to be doing good business, and an old red light-ship completes the postcard view.
