Personal

Naked garden

[No trees]

At last some movement on my damaged wall.

Today my garden was stripped bare, the shrubbery that was saving the blushes of road-users has been turned to pulp. Click on the image (beware: 500KB file) to see the before and after shots looking out from my house.

The garden feels quite different now, much more exposed. I'm not really one for hiding behind fences, walls and hedges (private is one of my least favourite words), but I'll have to sit out there a while before I decide whether to replant or not.

(As I was taking these photographs, an old gentleman walked down Chapel Street cradling close to his chest a cotton reel holder that I'd seen yesterday at the auction room. There was a glint in his eye that said, "Bargain!")
