Greenbelt

First Trip to Cheltenham

Yesterday I visited Cheltenham for the first time this year. It felt like a landmark moment, and not just because it meant seven hours' driving!

We met with last year's Greenbelt FM team, to discuss what might happen with radio this year. I'm really excited about the possibilities of doing new, risky, experimental things at Greenbelt and the festival radio station's an area that could be really innovative here. (If anyone reading has thoughts on Greenbelt FM, do mail me - I'd love to hear them.)

Greenbelt

Three Signs that it Must be Spring

  1. The latest GB publicity has hit my doormat; now proudly pinned up at work
  2. I'm being woken by the sounds of birds nesting in the eaves of my house, or shrieking surprise at the daily return of the sun
  3. I've spent the past month cleaning my entire house
The birds I can put up with; it gives me a chance to spend an hour doing some Greenbelt work before going to my day-job. The house is more problematic; whether I manage to keep it in this state more than a week remains to be seen.

War Weary World

Here's my enlightened company's official policy on the war with Iraq:

The following activities are unacceptable:

  • The display or circulation of any pro or anti war materials in any building. This includes posters, leaflets, placards or clothing.
  • The circulation of any pro or anti war material via email
  • Any comments which may be considered intimidating or harassing
