The final segment of the extended Suffolk Coast and Heaths Path, today's walk is the length of the Stour from its first bridging point in Manningtree to the Marina at Shotley Gate.

The view up the estuary from Manningtree is very familiar. The railway line from Ipswich to London crosses the Stour here, and it never ceases to be a highlight of trips to town. I've seen the view so many times that walking towards its vanishing point on the horizon felt like walking into a painting.
